General Job Description:

Under the direction and guidance of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the administration, fundraising, staffing, finances, directing, and management of the Children’s Literacy Network (CLN) consistent with its mission. Other key duties include marketing and community outreach.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

● Communications, community outreach, and advocacy

● Strategy development, assessment, and evaluations

● Fundraising activities and events

● Fiscal and grants management

● Staff supervision and strengthening organizational culture

● Board relations and support

● Program direction and operations oversight

● Program evaluation

● Organizational Governance

Job Requirements:

● BA degree. Masters preferred.

● 5+ years of executive leadership experience within nonprofit organizations.

● Experience with community education, outreach, and social justice advocacy.

● Fiscal management experience in a nonprofit organization or a public agency.

● Demonstrated leadership/history in fundraising and capacity building.

● Experience and the ability to work with gender equity and racial justice issues.

● Organizational and HR management experience with the ability to supervise and train.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills.

● Effective organizational and time management skills.

Job Type:

Full time.

Pay:

$60,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience

Schedule:

● Monday to Friday, evenings as needed.

● Must be able to commute to Southeast Michigan for events, and meetings.
